Jesus Is Awesome!

Okay, this post is all about...
(Get ready to read)
I've been thinking a lot about Christianity lately - Witnessing, praying, and reading my Bible.
I am not the best witness, by a long shot! I guess because I'm so shy. But, I'm working on that! ;) I'm not very good at reading my Bible either. I do read my Bible every day, well, I try to, and I do pray everyday. But, we could all do better, right?

And, I was thinking of angels being around me, too. I could just picture angels surrounding me and having me in a big bubble that protects me from everything.
I don't think we realize how often Jesus protects us. We could be walking down the side of the road, and a car drives past us - we don't think about it, but that car could have slid off the road and killed us! But, maybe God protected us and the people in the car, and kept the car from hitting us.

A family from our church had a house fire not too long ago. They have seven kids and one of their daughters is one of my bestest friends. Actually today is her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETHANY!!!! She's turning 14. But, anyway, her and her sister's room caught on fire. The firemen said that if the they would have been in bed at the moment, that one of them or both have them could have died!!! And if one of them would have gotten out, she would have third degree burns! But, luckily, they were all in the living room, which is on the other side of the house, watching a movie together, so all of them were okay. And, they all (including some people who knew them) were in a circle rejoicing and thanking God that they were all okay. And, some of the firemen looked confused. Here they are, they just had a fire and they're rejoicing? ;)

And someone is our church's mother is in the hospital. (So, please pray for her) We went to visit her today. (They're Christians by the way) And, her heart rate was racing and she was brought to the hospital. And her husband was watching her heart rate on the meter thing. And he said he watched her heart rate go from like 120 to like 60 in a split second. No one could explain how, not even the doctors knew what happened, but her and her husband knew what happened. ;)

Isn't God FANTASTIC?!?!?!?!

I love this picture! In fact, it's my new wallpaper on my desktop! Every time I see pictures like this, it makes me smile and look forward to going to Heaven with Jesus then I will be one of those children sitting on Jesus' lap. Sigh... I just can't wait until we get to go to Heaven. Can you? I know I can't!

Matthew 14:25-33
25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29
"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Good night!

Katie

  2. Hi Katie, What a good story about your friends. How lucky they are to be all safe. GOD is GREAT! I believe in Angels and I believe they are all around all the time. I love the Angels and have read a lot about them.
    This was a beautiful post.
My girlfriend also just had a house fire at 2AM with the whole family asleep and she swears if it wasn't for the Angels telling her and her husband to GET UP NOW, they would have slept thru the fire. It started in her bedroom closet when the lightning struck. It is very scary but they also rejoiced that they were alive.

  3. Katie - excellent blog and how true. God is with us even when we don't know it. We can't all be 'verbal' witnesses, but a lot of time we can witness by our hearts and actions - and you do.

  5. Such a wonderful post with a lot of depth for one so young. God knows your heart Ms. Katie and knows your desire to do the right things. He will guide you as long as you continue to seek Him. You're definitely on the right track!

I too believe that God protects us from things that we don't even realize. And He saves us from ourselves many times.

Praise God for the ability to rejoice in the midst of pain and tragedy. That's truly the joy of the Lord!
