Secret To Magic Gopher

My sweet mother looked up the secret to the Magic Gopher game....

~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~

When you follow the instructions, your number goes through the following formula: xy - (x+y), where x is the first digit, and y is the second. (For example, for 53: x = 5 and y = 3... -> 53 - (5+3) = 45.

This formula always produces multiples of 9 (0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81). If you look at the symbol chart, the symbol for multiples of 9 are always the same, but the chart itself changes every time you play again. Next time you see the symbol chart, look at the symbol for 9. Any number that you originally picked will result in that symbol.

~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~

In other words, say my number is 66. ~ 6+6=12 ~ 66-12=54 ~ 54 is a multiple of 9. ~ 72 ~ 7+2=9 ~ 72-9=63 ~ 63 is a multiple of nine. So everytime, it ends up being a multiple of nine. And all the nine symbols are the same. Does that make sense? It's still weird though!

Have a great day! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever."
Psalm 107:1

May your home be Blessed,
Your Love be Rewarded,
And your life enriched this Thanksgiving!

It just so happens that I'm learning about Thanksgiving in my Social Studies right now. So I'll share with you, in my own words, what it says.

Thanksgiving was first celebrated my the Pilgrims after about a year in the new world. They had plenty of corn ready for harvesting, they had made friends with the Indians, the rivers and streams had plenty of fish for them to eat, the woods around them had plenty of animals to hunt for, and they decided to have a day or two just to thank the Lord for all He had done for them.

Preparations for the first harvest celebration began. Four settlers went out hunting and brought back enough wild turkeys to feed the settlers for almost a week! The women and children went gathering eels, lobsters, and shellfish from the shores of the bay.

They invited the Indians to their Thanksgiving feast. Chief Massasoit arrived with ninety hungry Indians and it looked as if there wouldn't be enough food, but the chief sent hunters out into the woods and they later came back with five deer.

They not only had plenty of meat, but they had plenty of vegetables. And since they had plenty of corn, the made they used some corn to make cakes.

The celebration lasted for three days - three days of relaxing, games, and thanking God. They sang praises to God, prayed often, and listened to their governor, Governor Bradford, as he read the Bible.

And that was the first Thanksgiving! :)

So Thanksgiving is all about thanks that we give to God. Because we have so much to be thankful for.

But Thanksgiving can be fun too!...

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving Day!

Natural Bridge Field Trip

November 10th, My class took a field trip to the Natural Bridge, VA. It was so much fun! :D

These are some pictures of the way up there...

Mountains! :D

This is the building...

And the inside....

Next we went down a walkway...

There was a little stream running down the side...

After walking down the walkway, we reached this building...

Beyond that patio, there was the lake...

Then I looked up and saw this...

As I walked down the walkway under the bridge, I saw a few of the kids in my class crowding around in one spot, crouching over the rock rail staring at a certain spot in the lake. I asked them what they were doing. There was a baby snake in the water...

(sorry if it's hard to see)
It's kind of cute! :)

If you can't tell, this is a view of the top part of the bridge viewing from up under it.

That box is marking the supposed George Washington's initials he carved in there himself from when he was young.

This is a little wooden bridge going over the lake under the Natural Bridge...

Under the little bridge.

Then we walked....

....to a replica of a small Indian village.

This dude was our guide. :)

This is a wig-wam.

And the inside of it...

This is something, I don't know what it was supposed to be...
This was up under the tent thing...

Next we walked over a cement bridge over a creek.

Then down a path...

The "Lost River"

Then we walked further and we came to the waterfall.

On our way walking back, we saw a little otter sitting on a rock...
HE'S SO FLUFFY!!!!!!! :D

Then we walked back up the way we came then drove down to the caverns.
I didn't get many pictures of the caverns, and the ones I did get were too dark, so sorry.

Hope I didn't bore you! :)

Interesting Facts

I got this in an e-mail and thought I'd share it with you guys! :)

Interesting facts....

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes, the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase...
'Goodnight, sleep tight'

1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on TV has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 years of your life, is now a cause for panic so you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

She's OK!

Hey, guys! :)

I wanna thank you guys for all the prayers. Lila's grandma came through surgery fine! :)

She's in the hospital recovering right now. My cousin told me that it started about 7 am and ended about 1 pm yesterday. The doctors said that it really couldn't have gone much better! God definitely kept her safe and guided the doctors! :)

Even though the surgery is over, she's probably still in a lot of pain, and won't be able to do much for a while. So please just keep her in your prayers! Thank you! :)

Prayer Request

Hi, guys! Will you please pray for my cousin, Lila's grandma? She's having an open heart surgery today. My family and I are really worried about it.

Here is the e-mail my cousin Lila sent me last night...

Hey. I was just wanting to let you know that my grandma is having a major surgery tomorrow. It is an open heart surgery and the surgery its self will take at least 5 hours! There are many risks and everyone is nervous and praying for her. The reason for the surgery is she has an aneurysm. It is in one of her heart valves. They are going to remove the valve and replace it with a pig valve. (Apparently pigs have the same size heart as humans.) She will be in the hospital for I think about a week or so until she is allowed to go home. (If everything goes smoothly) She will not be able to do anything for at least a month, including driving, cooking, and for a little while, standing and walking. I am really worried, along with the rest of my family. Every night in my prayers I ask God for a successful surgery and a successful recovery. I pray that nothing will go wrong and that she will feel ok by Christmas. Please pray for my grandma! She needs all the prayers she can get.

~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~

Please keep her and my family in your prayers.

Thank you
